Gym and Fitness

A healthy body leads to healthy mind and a healthy mind trains us to face adversity in life. Gym is extremely important to stay healthy both in body and mind. Long term physical activity increases the benefits of long term health. Physical excercise also has many mental benefits such as increase concentration and confidence. It is important to keep health and body fit and hence St. Xavier's College has Multi Gym with good instructional facility to keep the students and staffs healthy and fit.

The college has well setup of modern gym with all the latest equipments such as cardio machines, weight machines and free weights to provide facilities for balanced excercise. The Gym emphasizes lifting techniques, safe operation of exercise machines, gym etiquette, fundamental exercises for each muscle group, basic human anatomy as it relates to the student’s fitness/health goals. The trained and experienced instructor is available for assistance, guidance and training.

The Gym is located in the ground floor near the Vollyball/Basketball ground. It is opend all the days in morning and evening shifts. Morning shift runs from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM and evening shift from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Membership is open only for the students and staffs by paying the gym membership fee. Students are encouraged to use the gym facilities when they are in the college campus during their leisure time before, between and after classes. The gym aims to provide quality fitness activities under the guidance of instructor to students and staffs in a user friendly environment.

Important Instructions:

  1. Always keep a towel when your are in the Gym.
  2. Don't use the instruments without the permission of instructor.
  3. Clean your sweat after using the instrument.
  4. Don't sit on the chair of instructor.
  5. Maintain discipline in the Gym, non compliance could result in to expulsion.
  6. Always wear tracksuit while doing workout. Please avoid using jeans pant.
  7. Maintain hygiene particularly in respect of shoes.
