About the Examination Cell

Examination Cell of St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Ranchi is a statutory body constituted in accordance with the UGC guidelines for autonomous colleges, The cell is headed by the Controller of Examination (CoE), and the Principal acts as the Chief Controller of Examination.

The office of the Controller of Examination is fully equipped with necessary infrastructure for generating question papers, conducting evaluaation work, preparing results and the printing of mark-sheets and other relevant confidential materials together with declaration of results, printing and distribution of degrees for a particular academic session.


The Examination Cell undertakes all activities related to the formative and summative evaluation of its students.

  • Formative Evaluation means Continous Internal Evaluation (CIE).
  • Summative evaluation means Semester End Exam Evaluation(SEE).
Aims & Objective

To Conduct all the Examinations of the College efficiently and ethically on scheduled time. To publish the results within 30 days after completion of the examination.

Structure of Examination Cell

The Examination Cell works around the year. To facilitates smooth and efficient functioning, it is structured to consists of:

  • Academic Wing
  • Printing Wing
  • Financial Wing
  • Data Processing Wing

To support the cell, other than CE Á ACEs, sufficient number of the office clerk/assistants and helpers have been appointed.

All the computational and printing work is done by computer programmers and data entry operators under the strict vigilance of the CE and ACEs.
