Attendance Policy

  1. Students shall attend all lecture classes, special classes as well as seminars if any during the semester as the college/department may prescribe and not absent themselves from class without adequate reasons.
  2. A Student is eligible to write the semester examination only when he/she has a minimum of 75% attendance in each subject and in aggregate of all the subjects.
  3. Students with attendance below the required level will not be permitted to appear for the end semester examinations.
  4. Leave of absence from College must be applied for previously. The general terms of excuses such as 'some business', 'Personal work', and 'sick' are not sufficiently explicit.
  5. The leave letter should be duly signed only by the parents.
  6. Absence from class up to three days needs to be justified with the department's HoD. The Vice-Principal clearance is required, in addition to the HoD, if absence ranges from 4 to 10 days. Beyond 10 days the Principal shall allow a student on adequate justification.
  7. In case of absence for more than a week, the student shall obtain the permission from the Principal to enter class.
  8. In case of Sickness a Medical Certificate, Treatment Prescription and Medical Test Reports are to be submitted along with Leave Application Form endorsed by Parent/Guardian and forwarded by the Head of respective department. A minimum of 60% attendance is required in each subject separately on Medical Ground to appear in the Semester examination. Student must get the application forwarded/approved by the Principal/Vice-Principal immediate after resuming the class. No back dated sick application will be considered.
  9. In case of personal life-threatening sickness, NCC, NSS, Participating in National level sports, Representing college for any event and Arm forces interview or test, the absent beyond 25% may be condoned. In this case, a prior permission of the Principal must be obtained.
  10. A student, who falls short of 75% attendance in any month, will be required to meet the Principal with his/her parents.
  11. A student, who is continuously absent for more than 15 days without intimation, is liable to have his/her name removed from the college's register.
