The Cafeteria holds a very important place in any college. This is the place, which is important not only for food but for making some of the best memories of college life. As many students come from distant places, it is essential for the students to have nutritious food and refreshments at affordable prices so as to participate in the daily academic activities actively. The college cafeteria plays an important role in this regard by catering the daily requirements of students and staff members.
The SXC Cafeteria is a self service restuarant for college students. It is a place where the students select food from the counter and pay the amount and the then food is collected from the concerned counter. It is a convenient place for the students in the college campus to eat their meals. The cafeteria is not just a food joint but a place to relax, interact, rejuvenate and take a refuge from the daily hectic schedule. The cafeterias are very spacious in order to accommodate large number of students and also have comfortable sitting arrangement.
Students and teachers spend their leisure time in the cafeteria with coffee/ tea and snacks, sharing views and discussing on academic matters. Teachers have separate sitting arrangements. Parents visiting their ward can find refreshments and luncheon at the canteen. The cafeteria remains open during office hours in all the working days. The prices of the foods available in the cafeteria keep reasonable by a committee formed by the college authority.
The college consists of three major cafeterias spread across the campus. These cafeterias cater for refreshment and eatables to the students, faculties and the operating staffs. The whole ambience of the cafeterias is so soothing and delightful that it tempts you to come here again and again. College cafeterias are good enough for students to avoid purchases from shops outside the college.
1. Amul Cafe:
The college campus has a fully functional Amul Cafe which takes care of the Dairy and allied needs of the students. It provides a wide range of Amul Products. It is located near the main gate of the college. It opens from 8 AM to 6 PM from Monday to Saturday to cater the needs of students studying in the college.
Students, Faculty members and Staffs are visiting Amul Cafe to have some cool stuff ice creams, flavoured milk, lassi, chach, chocolates etc. It also offers cold drinks and snacks. It also deals with a range of biscuits and cakes.
2. Green Chilli:
Green Chilli has hygein and specious hall having 180 sitting arrangemnts for the students. It has a seperate sitting arrangment for the faculty and staff. Green Chilli has a number of food counters providing with a variety of food items such as Continental, Chines & South Indian, and Beverages. The students need to get the desired paid coupon/slip from the main counter and then approach to the concern counter to collect their food items. It is opend in all working days from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
3. Canteen:
The objective of the Canteen and meal service is to protect by reducing the risk of foodborne illness, with proper sanitary conditions, and preventing adulterated food. The canteen is located inside the College campus. The hostellers and day scholars are provided snacks & meals by assuring food safety and quality.
The students who come to college from faraway places and start their classes early in the morning and even many day-scholars use canteen facilities for their breakfast, snacks and tea. The canteen has a range of snacks items such as Samosa, Aalu Chaap, Cutlet, Piyaaji, Balushahi, Chaat, Chowmein, Rolls, Dosa and Idly. It is opend in all working days from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The College canteen also caters meals and tea to the functions organized in the college like seminars, conferences, workshops, college day, anuual sport day, national days etc. The Management of the Canteen is directly under the control of the College Administration. The management is fully committed to keeping the quality of the canteen for the utmost benefit of all concerned.
