Eco Task Force

ECO TASK FORCE was established in 2006 under the aegis of Department of Zoology, St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi. With more than a decade of our journey, we continue to build a base towards environment conservation and protection. Our sole objective is making our mother nature more green, pollution free and a better habitable world for our future generation. With the help of our dedicated students volunteer, we continue to focus in creating environmental awareness by promoting the policy of clean and green city, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, planting and distributing saplings. Our vision is to bring the focus on value and importance of our planet and environment to all human beings. Thus, we dedicate ourselves in every means and effort to preserve and protect the natural environment.

Goals of Eco Task Force

• To improve the conservation of biodiversity through educational, scientific management and training programme;
• To improve the quality of life of the local community through management and conservation of natural resources;
• To ensure that the natural environment is used wisely and continues to be available for the benefit and enjoyment of future generations;
• To decrease vulnerability and improve adaptation capacity among poor local communities associated with climate change.

Main Areas of Work

• Environmental awareness campaigns with the public
• Environmental educational campaigns with college students
• Event organization – World Environment Day/World Wetlands Day and others
• Workshops on wide range of environmental problems (climate change, ozone depletion)
• Sapling plantation
