The State Government has directed the Universities to introduce vocational programmes at the Degree level from 1994-95 sessions in accordance with the guidelines of the UGC.The Professional Honours/Management/Vocational Honours programmes are conducted in this College with the objective of train the students in skill based and job oriented programmes that will enables them to find gainful employment in the job market or equip them for self – employment. These skill based courses are conducted in an entirely different environment than the traditional ones. The teaching and learning environment consists of regular classroom teaching, intensive practicals, intensive summer trainings, seminars, workshops, field study and On-Job-Training. The college tries to ensure that gainful employment opportunities are available to these students.The selection is done on the basis of an Entrance Test and Interview. The subject matter of the Entrance Tests is displayed on the college notice board and college web site. Applicants are expected to consult the college notice board and the college website. No information will be sent them separately.

Aim & Objective:

Vocational Courses have been formulated with the aims to prepare students for a career in a specific field, rather than providing them with a broad-based education like traditional academic courses. Vocational courses focus on particular training and hands-on experience for preparing students for a wide range of careers in various industries. The objective of vocational courses is to develop enterpreneurial skill, industry-relevant skill and problen-solving skill in the students.

Advertising and Marketing is one of the most opportunistic area in the corporate sector. This programme is designed to fulfill the demand of international finance and auditing. Different areas are recognized in the international finance i.e. international risk management, export finance, international investment, international auditing, international currency market operation, international money transactions etc. International Accounts and finance has extreme vast areas of operation and presently gaining importance as the developments of international business. This area also covers joint ventures, international business mergers and international corporate acquisition. Due to the present government initiative of make in India programme this field is also gaining importance. Another major area of international finance is international auditing and this is the mandatory requirement for every international financial dealings. This programme is also recognized by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Apparel, Made-ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council. Apparel, Made-ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council assesses the students’ skills in following systems-So students will get dual certificate as Graduation Certificates from Ranchi University and Skill Assessment Certificate from Apparel, Made-ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council. There are vast opportunities exists in the field of Apparel Design/Product Design/Fashion Accessory Design and Marketing. One of the highest growing field and it’s generating vast employability scopes. This programme is oriented with high practical exposure either in lab environment or in external industry environment. This programme also provides the opportunity to develop as an entrepreneur in the field of fashion products manufacturing or marketing.

8. B. Voc. Building Construction Management:

This programme is also recognized by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Construction Sector Skill Council. Construction Sector Skill Council assesses the students’ skill in following systems-So students will get dual certificate as Graduation Certificate from Ranchi University and Skill Assessment Certificate from Construction Sector Skill Council. There are certain qualification packs designed by the Construction Sector Skill Council for the every Level of Assessments. Students are assess in according to these qualification packs for ascertain their subjects understanding with skill components factors like practical and industry orientation. In this programme 240 hours of practical is allotted in each semester for the developments of skill components within the students in according to the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
