Board of Studies

The Board of Studies is a statutory body and reports to the Academic Council regarding academic matters like introduction of a new academic programme, revision of a programme / course / syllabus, review of academic rules, etc. shall be handled by the board of studies.

Functions:

  1. To prepare syllabi for various courses keeping in view the objectives of the college, interest of the stakeholders and national requirement for consideration and approval of the Academic Council.
  2. To suggest methodologies for innovative teaching and evaluation techniques.
  3. To suggest panel of names to the Academic Council for appointment of examiners.
  4. To coordinate research, teaching extension and other academic activities in the department/college.

Board of Studies for varios departments are framed as per the regulations framed by the UGC and per given norms.

Two subject experts from outside the parent university are to be nominated by the Academic Council

One expert is to be nominated by the Vice Chancellor from a panel of six recomended by the Autonomous College Principal

One representative from industry/corporate sector/allied areas to be nominated by the Principal

One member of the college Alumni to be nominated by the Principal

7

Expert from outside the Autonomous College, whenever special courses of studies are to be formulated to be nominated by the Principal
