Department of Hindi



The Hindi Deptartment along with its academic programme conduct its cultural programmes. Hindi is our national language and it is spoken and understood by majority of Indians. It is also helpful in marketing, public relations and other jobs. Keeping these in mind we organize at least one monthly intra-college event related to the language like poetry-recitation, essay-writing, debates etc. This helps in brushing and polishing of young talents in the college and also gives them a chance to express their views through their literary works.

The specialty of this department has been to spread awareness and interest in studies among the students coming from very weak background and from the remote forest-mountains of Jharkhand and develop a love for Hindi language and literature under the efficient and competent guidance of learned professors.

In the field of employment-oriented, by presenting solutions to the various questions of the students suffering from mental frustration towards Hindi subject, by making them aware of the importance of Hindi language and various aspects of employment-oriented Hindi like - government, public and private offices, institutions, business establishments, mass media-systems, academic institutions in foreign countries and research. Students are motivated to move forward by providing information about the increasing demands of Hindi subject experts in educational institutions and research institutes.

Programmes:

  • The Department offers full time courses in B.A. (Hindi) and M.A. (Hindi).
  • The four-year undergraduate programme in Hindi is divided into eight semesters. The syllabus in each semester introduces the students to literary study and focuses on critical techniques, approaches and debates to provide the students with the basic tools for literary analysis and appreciation. The introductory survey of the history of Hindi Literature is complemented by the study of set texts which have been contextualized within specific literary periods.
  • The M.A Hindi course is for two years and divided into four semesters. The course offers an overview of Hindi poetry, prose and drama aims to create an interest in the study of Hindi Literature through a study of texts, literary terms and related concepts.
